Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Lifeline’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is committed to providing care throughout your entire life, from childbearing age to menopause and beyond. Its team-based methodology engages you as a partner in treatment, healing, hope, and finding solutions to challenging issues. One of the biggest and most reputable obstetrics and gynecology practices in the world is housed in the department.

After conducting a complete evaluation using cutting-edge diagnostic technologies, the specialists from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology collaborate to create a personalized treatment plan for each patient. With a robust support network, the department offers comprehensive and holistic care for women’s medical conditions, including pregnancy and postpartum care.

Most consultants in the field are dual trained in obstetrics and gynecology (O&G). Many people have a sizable specific interest in one field, including high-risk childbirth, fertility treatment, or minimal access surgery. A smaller group of consultants are sub-experts, with all their work being focused on a single field of expertise. The obstetric team manages gynecological and prenatal cases, including natural deliveries and cesarean sections. Additionally, they respond to all obstetric and gynecological emergencies 24 hours a day. The staff members are well-trained and very driven. High-risk pregnancies and preterm births are their areas of expertise.

To ensure that patient care continues to advance in the areas of quality and safety, we are dedicated to training the next generation of health care professionals and taking part in evidence-based research. Our residency and fellowship training programs have a stellar reputation for giving a broad population of women a wide range of clinical experiences. A guided experience and instructional knowledge in research techniques are provided to residents and fellows. The faculty is dedicated to educating the following generation of obstetrics and gynecology experts, subspecialists, and physician investigators.

In addition to receiving the most cutting-edge treatment to address the health needs of every mother and child women are given alternatives at the Lifeline, including Deluxe Maternity Suites, throughout labor and postpartum recovery.

Obstetrics

Obstetrics is the field of medicine that focuses on the treatment and care of women during pregnancy and childbirth and illnesses of the female reproductive system. No matter how low-risk or how complicated the case may be, or whether the infant experiences any discomfort during labor, an obstetrician undertakes all birth cases.

Obstetrician helps:

  • Delivering the Joy of Painless Labour
  • Using instruments to assist delivery – including forceps or vacuum-assisted delivery
  • Performing caesarean sections, either as a planned or emergency procedure

Obstetrician also treats:

  • Ectopic pregnancy
  • Fetal distress
  • Placental abruption, or when the placenta detaches from the uterus
  • Shoulder dystocia, or when a baby’s shoulders get stuck during childbirth
  • Uterine rupture
  • Prolapsed cord, or when the umbilical cord becomes trapped during delivery
  • Obstetrical hemorrhage
  • Sepsis, which is a life-threatening infection

Common procedures in Obstetrics

  • Induction of Labor
  • Cervical ripening
  • Vaginal Delivery/Normal Delivery
  • Cervical Encerclage
  • Genital Tract Lacerations
  • Abnormal Fetal Presentation
  • Multiple Gestation
  • Postpartum Hemorrhage
  • Cesarean Delivery
  • Abnormal Placentation and Caesarean Hysterectomy

Obstetric Care Services

Every birth is unique, and we think that the time you spend in labor and giving birth to your child will be very meaningful to you. In our labor rooms, a staff nurse will care for you on a one-on-one basis while an obstetrician and perhaps an anesthetist also attend to your needs. Our committed professionals are on-site around-the-clock to make sure that you and your unborn child stay healthy throughout your labor. Your midwife will help you in any way she can so you can have a normal delivery. She will encourage you to have a normal birth, advocating upright postures when it is possible.
Your obstetrician will support you in every way we can to ensure that you experience normal delivery.

Obstetrical Care

We are proud to offer complete, compassionate maternity care. We are here to support mothers and babies, from prenatal care to birth and beyond. We are committed to ensuring the health and well-being of you and your baby. At our hospital we are Baby Friendly and offer 24-hour rooming-in with your infant, nurse’s services, lactation support, maternal-fetal medicine consultations, obstetrical ultrasound and antenatal testing, obstetric anaesthesia, and have level III neonatal intensive care units staffed by neonatologists.

Painless Delivery and labour Suites

Our devoted staff of anesthesiologists works around the clock to provide epidural services and make sure that every birth is painless and normal.  All doctors have received training in administering labor analgesia and resolving any critical issues that might occur. The majority of women who do not obtain pain treatment during labor report their pain as severe. With the development of modern medicine and the accessibility of methods with qualified practitioners, it is today regarded as “inhuman” to not alleviate labor pain. There is no other situation in which it is thought to be acceptable for someone to be untreated for severe pain that is treatable with safe intervention while being treated by a doctor.

High-Risk Pregnancy

The majority of pregnant women can be treated by obstetricians. But childbirth might occasionally be more challenging. When there are possibilities that could harm the mother, the unborn child, or both, the pregnancy is deemed high risk. These issues could occur before conception, develop throughout pregnancy, or appear after conception. Every pregnant woman who comes to us receives obstetrical ultrasound services, and we also give high-risk pregnant women specialist care.

Our obstetricians who are specialized in fetal medicine can assess, identify, and keep track of high-risk pregnancies. Specialists from Lifeline FM aim to reduce the stress that high-risk scenarios cause for you, your baby, and your family.

Prematurity Prevention Program

  • Prior spontaneous preterm birth (24 to 36 weeks gestation)
  • Prior pregnancy loss (16 to 24 weeks gestation)
  • Multiple gestations (twins or more)
  • History of surgery to the cervix
  • Abnormal uterus or congenital Müllerian anomalies (i.e., septated uterus)

Breastfeeding Services

Your child should have the finest possible start in life. Since we understand the value of a good start, our staff works closely with all new mothers to go over breastfeeding alternatives and assistance as well as to offer guidance during this unique period. Breastfeeding support is offered through Lifeline Ob/Gyn Care through workshops, discussion groups, and lactation consultants.

Gynaecology

Gynecology focuses on the care of women’s reproductive systems. Concerns with the female reproductive system are identified and treated. The uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, and breasts in women with complicated pelvic floor problems are included in this.
Gynecology at Lifeline provides a comprehensive range of services, from yearly preventative well-woman check-ups to sophisticated medical and surgical care for women during their reproductive and post reproductive years. In addition, we provide for young women with preventive gynecologic care who are concerned about irregular cycles, contraceptive technology, and stress. We also offer gynecologic services ranging from well-woman visits to gynecologic oncology, including fibroids, menopause, PMS, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), urogynecology and pelvic reconstruction surgery, and vulvar vaginal illnesses.
